After four (4) years of city council meetings, outcries from neighbors, and political negotiations, the city of Tonganoxie is finally ready to tear up 4th Street and make some improvements. Hooray! Sure, we'll be on a gravel road for awhile and maybe even have limited access to our driveway ... but in the end, we'll enjoy the following benefits:
- Curb and gutter!
- Sidewalk!
- A mailbox that's cemented in the ground!
- Wider road!
- And the removal of our culvert under the driveway that's threatening to erode our entire front yard ... well ... not really ... but close to it.
We're excited for these improvements. Perhaps one day we'll feel safe walking down 4th street again.
