We commemorated the 2009 vernal equinox by camping-and-canoeing with the Beyelers at Leavenworth State Fishing Lake just up the road from our place. It was perfect Spring camping weather too ... highs in the 60's and lows in the 50's. Elise Beyeler was sportin' a cold and couldn't spend the night ... but she didn't leave till we had all enjoyed some banana boats cooked amongst the coals. Nummy! Rough night sleeping though ... there was a brief rain shower, wooting owls, helicopters with spotlights ("I didn't do it"), too early in the season for fleece sleeping bags, and a few other surprises. Max and Tyson had a great time and together with Nate and Cody, they set sail the next morning for a morning canoe outing. It was camping at its best.

Sweet. And we're still watching the last bits of snow melt away in the shady areas. Sounds fun!
That looks like so much F-U-N! That's so cool that you get out camping like that regularly... you guys are cool parents, for sure!
