First it started to rattle ... then the steam started to spew forth ... the Check Engine light came on ... and with a dying gasp our Jeep Grand Cherokee gave up the ghost near Exit 23 on I-435 this weekend. Paramedics arrived on the scene a couple of hours later and hauled the poor thing to the Emergency Room. The next day the Mechanic M.D. placed the dreaded phone call to our home where we learned that the head gasket was the cause of death. There was a slight chance they could revive it with a new one at the cost of $1k ... but once they get in there it could be worse, a new engine all together for $2.5K. So we shed a few tears and turned our heads as they pulled the gun out to end it's life. It was a good Jeep ... full of memories and laughter. We'll miss her dearly ...

But the Honda is still going, right? How many miles is that one up to?
Sorry about the Jeep!
Wow! The Jeep died before the Honda! I can't believe it! Well, on to better gas mileage now, right?
