A QR Code BDay Cake

We tried for weeks and weeks to have a (surprise) birthday party for Ty but it just never worked out. Since the surprise party didn't happen, we thought we'd still better give him his birthday cake. Originally he had wanted to have a cake that looked like a Dell laptop. But we told him that if he trusted us, we could come up with a better idea. Thus the QR Code Birthday Cake! For those that haven't seen a QR code before, it's a simple "code" that you take a picture of with your smartphone (iPhone or Android) and it will take you to a web page. In this case, the QR code takes you to Ty's own personal webpage. Yes - the creativity runs deep in this family. Cody created the code and of course, Paige made the cake.

15 Roses for Valentine's Day

Last week for Valentine's Day, Paige got 15 roses ... 14 roses for every year that Tyson's blessed our lives ... and 1 white rose for the new baby that's on its way. The first of many changes for the Edwards' household.

Ty's Report Card

We sometimes wonder if Ty even goes to school anymore ... he was out for three (3) days due to weather a couple of weeks ago ... and then another three (3) days this past week for Parent Teacher Conferences. That's some education! But we were more than elated to learn of the high praise that his teachers have for him. And the grades? How about all As and a coupe of Bs? WOW! We couldn't have been more excited and more thrilled in the progress that he's made. Way to go Ty!

Mr. Opossum

We might have given our two hamsters away last week, but we had a visit from Mr. Opossum this week. The little guy showed up one day (yes - in the middle of the day) just wandering around the backyard before he scampered off into the trees. Below are a couple of pictures that Paige took of the little fellow by Kallie's leash and the picnic table.

Hamsters Adopted

The hamster era at the Edwards household has come to an end. Grayscale and OJ will be taken to their new adoptive home tomorrow in Lawrence, KS. Sometimes, one's priorities become so dominant that they squeeze out other, less important priorities such as taking care of these little critters. So rather than watch the 3rd member of the Edwards house ignore the needs of these cute little balls of fur, we decided to put them up for adoption. Within minutes of posting them online, the offers came flooding in. We carefully scrutinized the various offers and picked the one that seemed the least likely to feed them to a snake. So long Grayscale and OJ ... we enjoyed your time in our home.

Grandma's Visit | Ty's BDay

Just so you don't think that Tyson skipped a birthday ... he really did turn 14. And to commemorate the event, Grandma Shirlene flew out to spend the weekend. We were happy to have her out here with us ... and so were the cats. Every time she got out the yarn to crochet, they be there at her feet ready to play. Good times had by all.
